My Sick Little Puppy

Alex has been sick all week, he missed school on Monday, there was no school on Tuesday or Thursday. He's had a fever hasn't been able to keep anything down, his body turned red, and he had dizzy spells. I took him to the Dr. today and found out he has Strep throat with Scarlet fever and an ear infection. I guess I'll keep him home the rest of this week, next week we have no school due to Easter Break. I want him to be able to enjoy the week off without being sick.

Chelsea's News

Chelsea called yesterday and gave us some news. She applied and has been accepted to work at Disneyworld for a semester from August - January. Both her and her roommate have been accepted. I guess I'm giving her my blessing, but we'll see what happens.

A Birthday Party

On Thursday we gave Alex's Teacher a birthday party. A few parents got together and wanted to do something for her on her birthday. So we collected some money and got her a cake and ice cream and a little gift. Some parents brought some food to eat, and their own special gift. We were able to get notes sent home and money collected without her knowing. It turned out to be very nice, and she didn't have a clue what we were doing. Until Thursday when she was paged to go to the lunch room, but didn't expect parents or food. I guess we did good.

Here's Alex and just a few other kids from the class. Here she is opening her gifts and of course the kids have to be up close.

Another Blast of Winter

Here we go again another blast of that white stuff. Which made for a slow and messy commute this morning. I guess Michigan is trying to get as much snow as possible before spring gets here.
Good news is that by the time we came home from work is was almost gone, we were suppossed to have rain, but I don't think that came.

Field Trip Day

For the last couple days I've had to teach this 2nd grade class. The teacher had a death in the family, and didn't leave any lesson plans. Which meant I had to do the best I could with last weeks lesson plans. This is my group of kids posing outside of the Detroit Historical Museum.
There was 3 classes that went, I got off my bus and went onto the other bus and got this picture of Alex trying to duck out of the picture.

One of our stops was at a Beaver, we had a good lesson on the Michigan Beaver. He even had a beaver skin that the kids got to touch. He also had the skull of the beaver with it's teeth and they got to feel how sharp the teeth were.

I didn't get to be with Alex during the tour, but I was able to see him a couple times during the day, which I took advantage and got his pictue.

What a Surprise

After a few days of warm weather with temps in the upper 60's and 70's, we wake up this morning with a blanket of this white stuff and the temps are at freezing 32 degrees, what a big change.
We've had a great couple of days with warm temperatures, at work we were able to take the kids out on the playground. Alex has spent alot of time outside playing. Neighbors were getting out and cleaning up around their houses. Everyone is getting anxious for some good weather to stick around.

Nice day to play outside

We finally have some nice weather, the temps were in the 50's today. Good enough to get outside and play. Which is what he did all day today. Almost all of the snow is gone, but you can still see some patches of that white stuff. Alex has been out playing basketball and football and just running around the yard. I know he enjoyed himself today.

Hey Joeyleigh

Joey this picture is for you, you wanted to see more pictures of that white stuff. I woke up wednesday morning and there was a couple inches of that white fluffly stuff all over. The only good thing about snow this time of the year is that it doesn't last long.

Here is Danny with his son Nathanial, he's 4 months old now and weighing 7lb 13oz. Look at the beautiful smile I'm so glad the wee little one is doing good.

The Storyteller

Today we had a storyteller come to the school and do a story with the children, he got the children and teachers involved, It was so much fun. He first started out with ma & pa then he kept adding adults to the line, each one of us was an animal. I ended up being a chicken. The teacher in front of me was a pig. We had to hold onto each others waist and make like we're trying to pull up a yam.

He gave me the mic and I had to say WHEW this is hard work! As you can see the teacher above really got into doing the motion.

I had my camera and was taking pictures, I was in the very back of the gym praying I wouldn't be choose, It didn't work.
