Today was count day at school, we had almost perfect attendance with the exception of only a small handful. The school had activities for the children. There was another school, a middle school in the upper suburbs that came in and painted faces and or hands. Alex got a basketball on his hand.
There was also a couple clowns that came in an gave each child a balloon art. Alex got a big yellow balloon, which looks like a big ole bananna. There was also a raffle drawing and one child from each grade won a boom box.

Chelsea Update
I got some more pictures from Chelsea, I'll share just a few. Well of course she had to get her picture taken with Lion king group. Here she is acting silly on the bus ride either from or to the park. I guess her and her friend were in a silly mood.

Saturday
I got this trampoline from a friend of mine. She had it for her grandkids, but her husband did nothing but complain about it messing up the yard, so she got rid of it and I got it. We got it put up today, all that's left to do is put the net around. I'll have John do that tomorrow before he goes to work.
Alex wanted me to get on the trampoline and jump, so I did. Alex had my camera so he started taking pictures. Just a couple came out ok, the others he cut off my head.
As we were watching Alex on the trampoline I fixed my camera on mom & dad and got their attention and snapped this picture, and I got it without dad's tongue or him making faces.
I found this store that sells all kinds of handmade crafts. I picked up this solar powered lighthouse. Since I'll never have a house out of this city, I'm going to have to come up with some kind of hookup to bolt it to the house so no one will still it.

Our Daily Activity
I couldn't resist getting this picture of mom. We were on our evening walk on the treadmill and I just had to snap this picture.
This is Alex stealing gum off my treadmill while I'm walking. We keep a pack of gum on each treadmill , so we can chomp as we walk but the gum seems to disappear quickly. Now we know the who's the thief.

Day Off
It's the start of the second week of school and we have a day off. We headed out to walk to school and I had parents telling me there was no school. As an employee sometimes we have to be there anyway, but not today. There was no power in that area.
My plans today are canning tomatoes, I got a bushel this weekend, so today will be the perfect day to take care of them.

Chelsea's Costumes
This is what she wore when she worked the Princess & Pirates Party. Blue jean shorts and red shirt is for toon town.
Brown shorts are for Frontier Land but the boots aren't they belong to one of her roommates. Then of course she needs rain gear, I've been checking the weather for the Orlando area and all it says is 90 and rain.

My Aching Back
Since Chelsea is in Florida for a few months; I thought I'd take this opportunity and sleep in her bed instead of my recliner, or the couch. Chelsea has been complaining about her mattress for a long time, that it hurts her back. I thought she was just a complainer. It turns out her mattress was really bad. After a couple nights I started waking up with back problems, so we bought a new mattress for her bed. I'm in sleep heaven now.
Alex laid the old mattress down so he can have fun jumping on the bed without getting in trouble.

First week is Over
Well we made it through the first week back to school. I do believe he likes his teacher. He was scared to go back at first, but now he's acting like his old self.
It was a busy week for me because I was registering kids for school, then making new student folders, then tearing apart filing papers then passing out the folders to the teachers. It doesn't sound like much but to make a new folder there is so much repetition writing. I've never done this before so I was thrown into a job with very minimal training and was told what to check, copy and fill out. Now if I can only remember all this next year I'll be doing good.

First Day of School
Well today is the first day of school for Alex, he's officially a 3rd grader. Yesterday he didn't feel good for most of the day, finally he broke down and told me he was nervous about going into 3rd grade. I also go back to work today officially. Last week I worked but that was just for 3 days plus there were no kids; then I got thursday, friday and monday off. Now I wont get a day off until November.
At lunchtime I went to the cafeteria to see how his day was going. He say it was good and found out 2 of his friends have the exact same new shoes, so I snapped this picture of the 3 pirates of the carribean.
