Just a couple pictures of something new I've learned.

Basketball at the YMCA

Alex is doing basketball at the Y again. He's had 3 games they lost the first and won the last 2. It's only for fun not a competition.

After the game Chelsea had me take her tanning, while waiting in the truck another truck pulled up and this dog had it's head out the window. I think these dogs are so pretty, so I took it's picture as I did the dog looked straight at me.

Chelsea's New Toy

Chelsea got a new camera yesterday and was playing around with it. These are a few pictures she took. The camera can be set to a certain color, and the picture will be black and white and the only color showing will be the color she choose.

Maricella's Quinceneara

These are a couple of pictures of Maricella at the church after the ceremony.

I work with these 2 ladies the one on the right is the aunt to Maricella.

This boy could dance, he went up against everyone and he had no problem doing it.

Saturday's Adventure

Saturday I spent the whole day at Maricella's Quinceneara taking pictures. The parents liked the pictures I took of her when I was taking the photography class, and I used her as a model. I work with Maricella's aunt and she kept me informed when the event was gonna happen. I was so nervous I was having bad dreams that week and I woke up saturday feel sick at my stomach. I've never been to one and I heard it was similar to a wedding (and it was). I hope they don't expect more from me than I could give.

Sunday I've spent most of the day sleeping, catching up due to the time change and coming home late.

Update on Mom

Mom went to the Dr. yesterday evening and he drained more fluid out of her knee. He is sending her for an MRI. Mom is no longer wearing her brace or using her crutches, she's able to walk now (with just a little limp).

Accident Vehicle

This is the vehicle Chelsea was riding in on Saturday. Chelsea was in the passenger seat.

MOM

Mom hurt her leg this weekend she heard it pop as she was coming up the stairs from the basement. She couldn't stand the pain anymore so dad took her to the clinic yesterday. The results are popped ligaments, they drained some fluid from her leg, put her in a brace and she got some crutches. Now she has to go to her Dr. and find out what they're gonna do.

Good Ole Chels

Chelsea had to take a picture of herself after she was put into the ambulance. She's been up and around today but she's sore. She will need to have some dental work done to at least 4 front teeth and 1 back tooth as of now. We aren't able to get her to a dentist until tomorrow. Along with pain she's heartbroken, she's not able to go to California with Soffiya this week. Her winter break from school was going to be spent traveling to California, I guess she'll have to delay her plans until this summer.

Chelsea's roommate Lisa from when they were in Flordia sent her flowers.

Prayers Needed

We got our snow storm that was expected, when it came it came hard. Young people sure don't like to listen to old people, they think they know it all. Chelsea and her cousin were heading to a concert about an hour or two away, halfway there they were in a car accident. I told her not to go that the roads were to bad, Vanessa even told her she shouldn't be going. I'm sitting home waiting for John to get there, I'm making phone calls and giving directions. The information I have received was that the girls were on a 2 lane road there was a car coming towards them and someone lost control and it became a head on collision. The girls were taken to the hospital, Chelsea was complaining that it hurts when she breathes, and it hurts to raise her head and her teeth were messed up.



This is the information I've recieved so far, once John gets there I may find out other information.


Update: Chelsea called about 8:30 tonight and they were getting ready to leave the hospital. She has no broken bones just bruised really bad. She's having problems with her teeth so we may have to get her into a dentist on emergency.

Welcome to Hell!

Chelsea and Soffiya went to the house on Tuesday, which is close to Hell, MI. Well of course they had to stop in hell and get their pictures by the signs. They also went driving and found horses and took pictures of that, they also found a buffalo farm and got pictures of that. They also went to John's brother's house and somehow they got a picture of a mouse sitting on a rock. They spent that day driving around and taking pictures. Soffiya will be leaving us on Sunday (weather permitting). According to the weather man we're expecting a big snow storm saturday, I'm praying it passes us by.

Vacation

One more day to work and then a full week off. We are gonna be on winter break next week. I am sooo glad, I think I need a week off. I hope by the time we return to work the cold weather has left us for good. It has been just too cold and it just keeps snowing. I think we're expecting more snow on saturday.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines day to all my family and friends. I love all of you.

For Valentines day we are getting snow, so far a couple inches YUCK! I'm really tired of snow. The only good thing about snow at this time of the year is that it wont last. The down side is that we're getting it at all.

Multiplication Bee

Thursday was the multiplication bee, Alex did very well. Out of 30 kids he came in 4th place. There was 2 5th graders that came in first place and a 3rd grader then alex. I'm not sure how they're gonna rule it. He'll either be in 3rd or 4th place. I'm pround of him, he did a great job.

Kidz Storm

Saturday we had a kids missionary at the church.

There were games, face painting, balloon animals and a Bible lesson.

The kids enjoyed themselves. The missionary was very good, he works very well with the children.

Alex got a Detroit red wings hocky team symbol on his cheek.

Great Job

Thursday was awards day for the first card marking. Alex came home with 4 awards. One for attendance, citizenship, scholarship and student of the month for November.
Alex also came in top in his class in the multiplication bee. That was seperate from the awards. I'm very proud of him.

A Day in the Snow

I took Chelsea, Soffiya and Vanessa to John's house for the day the girls wanted to build a snowman, but it wasn't the right kind of snow. Instead they spent time just playing in the snow. The porch on the back of the house has a lot of steps going down so they had the bright idea of sliding down on their bellies.

They were at the pond looking into the water which is frozen. This was a very cold day it was only somewhere in the teens.

They took off running in the snow, way back in the yard is a deer blind in a tree they ended up leaving Alex and he came back, but they climbed into the blind and sit for awhile. They enjoyed their self and when they came in we had dinner then left to come back to Detroit.

Deep Freeze

It has been sooooo cold here that you can't get out without freezing your behind off. I woke up this morning at 6:00a.m. it was -1 degree but when I left for work at 8:30a.m. it was -12 degrees. The girls went out yesterday to get some snow pants because they want to build a snowman. Here's Chelsea, Vanessa, and Soffiya in the store trying on some snow pants and taking pictures. I was talking with soffiya and she doesn't want to go to San Francisco to live she wants to back to L.A. because San Francisco is too cold. I guess she would never want to live in Michigan because it's alot colder here than San Francisco. It's supposed to be really cold tonight and then start warming up to the 20's that will be a welcome relief.
(It's warmer in Anchorage, AK than in Michigan, can you believe that)
