Another gift

This is a gift my son gave me, he's had it wrapped since the beginning of Dec. I've taped it to a piece of paper, but he keep this balloon from someones birthday, and he cut out these words and put it in an envelope.

Christmas Gift

Today I took Chelsea, Vanessa & Ashley and dropped them off at the mall, 41/2 hrs later I picked them up and Chelsea bought me this necklace with mom on it, I was speechless. I thought it was so beautiful that I had to share it.

Christmas eve with the Poole's

Finally it was midnight and time to open gifts, the girls didn't want to at first until they found out it was midnight. When they were all little they couldn't wait and we had to open early; now that they're older they want to wait and make Alex wait. He sure was happy to get started. He went around finding his gifts to open instead of waiting for us to pass them out.

Alex with his remote controlled truck.

Chelsea looking happy with her fuzzy socks.

Christmas at Home

I had to get everyone up at our house to open gifts. After having Christmas eve at John's parents house; we got home at 3am so everyone always sleeps in on Christmas day except me. After the gifts were opened we went next door and had dinner with mom, dad & lisa's family.

Alex got a guitar: he's been wanting. Chelsea with her tube socks she wanted. You can't find the ones with colored stripes just anywhere around here, Just one shoe store at the mall has them.

Alex & Chelsea in front of our tree after all the presents were opened.

Christmas at the Stapletons

We got mom & dad matching recliners for Christmas; the old ones were to big and her head doesn't rest comfortably, especially after she hurt her neck a fews years back. So far these seem to be working out good.

I walked in with my camera & Mom decided to pose, so I snapped her picture.

Lisa, Jessica & Michael in line for food, Alex and Lisa at the dinner table eating, Alex with a look as if saying enough with the pictures.

Chelsea & Vanessa getting food. Vanessa with a big spoonful of mashed potatoes, she ate it all and came back for more.
Alex & Chelsea playing operation, when Alex tried to operate it buzzed he jumped and didn't want to try again at first.

Ashley came over and spent a big part of the day with us.

Babies

I love christmas time, especially opening my christmas cards and finding baby pictures.
This little baby is my cousin Danny and his wife lindas baby Nathaniel. According to the pictures the one with the hat was taken at the beginning of the month and the other just last week, you can sure tell he has grown in just a couple weeks. It sure is great to see him grow, It will be real great when they can take him home from the hospital.

These 2 children belong to my cousin Joeyleigh, There's Dalton and Skye. She sure is growing up, she looks as if she may be a little bossy pants.

Cooper & Carsyn

My cousin Courtney sent these pictures today.
I just couldn't resist. Just look at Coopers face. It's says: You can't prove I've been into the presents.

With Carsyn you could just nibble on those little chubby cheeks all day.

Christmas at Neinas

Thursday his class had a little Christmas party, they didn't have much time to party. They had alot of snacks and the teacher put on music but just a handful danced, Alex refused to.

Wednesday was Christmas hat day, the children who wore a hat got their names put into a box and some were chosen to get a gift, Alex got a joke book, he found one joke in that book and has teased my mother with that joke that whole day.
It goes like this: Did your mother ever lift weights?
answer: Then how did she raise a dumbell like you.

Notice his funny looking hat, I wasn't in the mood to go through the attic and look for my santa hat, so I made one. The burg. was felt from Chelseas grad party, I put to pieces together hand stitched then hot glued the batting on, and he had a hat good enough for the day. That's all I could come up with the last minute without having to go to the store.

School Christmas Program

Today was the day for the Christmas Program at school. His class sung I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas.
He really got into the song and all the motions she had them do, he was having a good time.

This part is where their surprised when they opened up their eyes. They also point at the teacher on the part where the teacher tells that a hippo is a vegetarian. All the kids did good they learned the song word for word and they sung loud and they all looked like they were having fun.

Christmas Picture

The christmas photo was taken just before Thanksgiving. I just got them back today. The school changed photo companies; this company will continue giving employees a free package, but it's the smallest (cheapest) package they have. Like all companies their packages are expensive so I stuck with what was given to me.

Dena's Babies

I got these pictures today, so I thought I'd share. This is my cousin Dena with her mother-in-law and Dena's 2 babies Andrew who is 10 months and Rachel which is 2 yrs.

Our Tree

Alex and I went out saturday afternoon and bought a Christmas tree. This was the first year that I bought it, Alex was anxious to get a tree. There was no need to wait any longer, so we went out and he picked out the tree himself. I put it up my self, with no help I just love my tree stand; the inside tilts so when my tree wasn't straight I tilted it until it was. Once I got the lights on he put the figures on the tree himself, until I noticed they were all eye level for a child. So I helped him out and added the figures to the top. ( he did good though)

Indian Hoop Dance

Today a students father came to the school and did an Indian hoop dance for the 1st, 2nd & 3rd grades. His son was in Alexs' class last year and I got to know him and his wife. He's from the Navajo Tribe, he's a very talented man and both of them are very friendly. Last year he was at one of the class parties, and instead of the children up dancing and playing around, they set quietly in the back with him while he told them a story and folded paper ( which turned out to be an eagle). He also dances in the Indian Pow Wows around town.

After he danced to a couple Indian songs, he let some children come on stage and he put the hoops around them. I'm surprised Alex went up, he was made into a butterfly.

It's Snowing!

What a surprise, it started snowing (well not much of a surprise). It has been so cooooooold the last few days, and windy now today around 3:30p it started snowing.

Mom is at her back door and Alex with his mean little self is trying to get a snowball and throw at her.

Christmas Party

There's an org. called Bridgepointe from the upperclass suburbs that sponsors a few schools in the Detroit area. Each year they have been giving the children a christmas party. On friday from 1p - 3p they went around with gifts, music snacks and santa visits. Here each child got a sweatshirt with the school name on it. As soon as they got it, they wanted to put it on. Each child also got a homemade had & scarf.

They had a table set up for ice cream sundaes, and each child went through the line and got an ice cream with whatever toppings they wanted on it.

They had Karoke in the hallway so as the classes came through they stopped and listened and joined in for awhile. Here the boys are rocking back & forths and singing with the music.

Bridgepointe made up a little bag of goodies for each of the children, each class varied depending on the age group.

Since I had my camera with me, I took a picture of each child with Santa.

My Twin Sister?

I guess you didn't know I had a twin sister.
It's so funny all the kids at school will call me by her name or her by my name. They insist that we look alike. When her sister got laid off she told the kids it was because she was bad to the kids. All the kids pointed at me and said I told them, but the truth came out and everyone got a laugh out of it. I told her she had better do the right things because I don't want to get blamed for her bad mistakes (I'm always good so she don't have to worry).ha ha
