CHRISTMAS PARTY

Today the sponsoring school gave Neinas their Christmas party. Instead of having kaos in the hallways, they sit up different areas in the school where the kids would go. Right as soon as the other schools arrived, I got called to the Principal's office. I ended up being the schools photographer. I ran around the school all day trying to get some good pictures.

In the cafeteria they had it sit up to give each child a t-shirt and bag of candy.

From there they went to the hallway and sang some songs.

Each child got to see Santa Clause. They also got to go into the gym and hear the choir sing. By noon his class was able to sit down and eat. They brought pizza and juice.

Round # ?

I was awaken about 1:30 this morning with sirens from the fire trucks. The sirens just stopped and I knew the house next door was on fire again. I jumped out of bed and ran outside to see what was happening because I couldn't see no fire from the bedroom windows. Sure enough there was a fire but it was on the other side of the house this time. I'll have to look back and see how many times so far this house has been on fire, I'm thinking 4 maybe 5.

I went back and looked the magic number is 4.

Chelsea Skydiving

Chelsea finally sent some pictures of her skydiving adventure. Below is the plane she jumped out of.
She's getting all strapped up to get ready for her jump. She looks happy now, just wait.
This is Reggie and Justin a couple of friends that also jumped.

This is where she got pushed out of the plane. Check out the face she aint smiling anymore, she's terrified.
Now she's ok again, no scared look anymore. She's absolutely crazy. A view of the city from above.

Thanksgiving Day

This is our Thanksgiving day, I stayed home and went to mom & dads, while John took Alex to his parents house. Before we had dinner the kids were playing Guitar hero, and then they showed Danny how to play.
The cooks are in the kitchen ( ha, ha). They had Kurt carving the turkey, and the rest of them were getting the other stuff set out, while I set back and took pictures. Then I was first in line so I could get more pictures of the rest of them getting their food.

Time to eat, why do they stop when the camera comes out?

Now after dinner and the clean up crew gets done we get out a puzzle. The doctor told mom to exercise her brain and puzzles was one of the ways to do that. We've been trying to get her to work the puzzles with us, she does some but would rather watch. It looks as though all she is exercising is her mouth, chewing up that gum.

BATS AT SCHOOL!

Wednesday we had a 1/2 day of school, and they had scheduled the Bat man to come in and talk about bats. He had 2 sessions I was going to try to make it to the second one but by the time I got done coloring, the session had started so I didn't go it.
The teachers came to me for my camera to take pictures, by the looks of it he brought 2 different types of bats. One teacher even got to pet it. I wonder if she is really enjoying it, or just posing for the picture.

They had the kids sitting on the floor, and if you look close enough you can find Alex (only blond haired kid there).

Blue Pigs

Tuesday the Blue Pigs came to our school and sang a few songs for the kids. They're real police officers that work the streets, and they go around to the Detroit Public Schools singing and teaching kids how to be safe. They've been doing this for 37 years. I remember seeing them when I went to school.
They had a few teachers get up and dance for everyone, and these were the only brave teachers to do that. They were dancing to My Girl.
They called a couple kids up and asked them a few questions, and if they got it all correct they won a book.

They had the whole gym get up and dance, I got these 1st graders dancing. I tried to get Alex but he wouldn't dance.

I tried getting these 5th graders pictures while they were dancing. Manuel kept dancing but she stopped.

Field Trip

The third grade classes went on a field trip today to the jiffy factory and treehouse. Our first stop was to the treehouse to eat and play, 1/2 of the group went to the treehouse first while the other 1/2 went to the factory. We spent about an hour and half at each place. At the factory each child got to pick out a box of jiffy mix, the adults got 2 boxes and everyone got a jiffy cookbook.

Look how hard he was playing, his hair is soaked and his face is red.

After we had lunch at the treehouse, we went on a tour to the jiffy factory. I got this picture of the outside because when inside you're not allowed to take pictures in the factory.

Halloween

Today the classes had their halloween parties. I made these cupcakes that's suppossed to look like mummies. The children got to pass out the candy they brought. The teacher brought in a big slow cooker and cooked hot dogs.

Here's Alex and a couple friends posing for the camera.

I went out with Diane and Amanda at her neighborhood. I got Alex posing in front of Diane's house. His costume is Commander Blade.

Here's Amanda and Alex at one of the first houses of the evening. We ended up with a pillowcase full of candy. The weather was great except for the wind, Amanda kept losing her hat to the wind.

Erie Apple Orchard

The 3rd graders went to the apple orchards today. We had a great time, the weather was good it wasn't to cold or too hot, it was chilly but it looked like a beautiful day. I wanted to get his picture in the tree but when I snapped it he pulled back and plugged his nose, I guess it stunk. This deer was being stubborn, I tried to get his picture but he just keep his nose in the corner.

The orchards only had a few animals, right now he's feeding one of the goats.

It's lunchtime and we spent most of the time eating on the run. Trying to get away from the yellow jackets.

Here's the deer again, still in the corner but peeking around to check out what's going on.

There's a section by the building where we eat and it was full of hay, the children had the best time playing in that, throwing it around running and jumping and just being kids. I'll say they had shoes, pants, jackets and hair that was full of hay. The parents may have a mess on their hands when the kids got home. There was also a tractor the kids were able to sit and play on.

We went on a hay ride, they took us around the orchards. We seen the fields where the christmas trees are growing. They also showed us where the honey bees live. Then we went to the apple trees. The children got out lined up and was given rules on what they were allowed to do, when he said go off they went.

The children were told they were to pick 3 apples to keep.

We really didn't have a problem with the children, it was the parents. Check out their bags; there's 3 apples, but it looks like they have an extra apple they're trying to eat in a hurry.

The children got to see how the apples were cleaned, shined, and sorted. Then they took the children into the cooler, and thats were he's at in this picture.

After everything was done the children was able to pick a little pumpkin out of the bin to take home.

The deer again I guess after it was left alone for awhile it came to the fence. I was able to get it's picture and I was even able to pet it.

We had time so we took a walk through the corn maze, It wasn't that bad. It's amazing we came through it and still had all the kids.

On the way home some of the kids fell asleep and so did the mama's.
