Erie Apple Orchard

The 3rd graders went to the apple orchards today. We had a great time, the weather was good it wasn't to cold or too hot, it was chilly but it looked like a beautiful day. I wanted to get his picture in the tree but when I snapped it he pulled back and plugged his nose, I guess it stunk. This deer was being stubborn, I tried to get his picture but he just keep his nose in the corner.

The orchards only had a few animals, right now he's feeding one of the goats.

It's lunchtime and we spent most of the time eating on the run. Trying to get away from the yellow jackets.

Here's the deer again, still in the corner but peeking around to check out what's going on.

There's a section by the building where we eat and it was full of hay, the children had the best time playing in that, throwing it around running and jumping and just being kids. I'll say they had shoes, pants, jackets and hair that was full of hay. The parents may have a mess on their hands when the kids got home. There was also a tractor the kids were able to sit and play on.

We went on a hay ride, they took us around the orchards. We seen the fields where the christmas trees are growing. They also showed us where the honey bees live. Then we went to the apple trees. The children got out lined up and was given rules on what they were allowed to do, when he said go off they went.

The children were told they were to pick 3 apples to keep.

We really didn't have a problem with the children, it was the parents. Check out their bags; there's 3 apples, but it looks like they have an extra apple they're trying to eat in a hurry.

The children got to see how the apples were cleaned, shined, and sorted. Then they took the children into the cooler, and thats were he's at in this picture.

After everything was done the children was able to pick a little pumpkin out of the bin to take home.

The deer again I guess after it was left alone for awhile it came to the fence. I was able to get it's picture and I was even able to pet it.

We had time so we took a walk through the corn maze, It wasn't that bad. It's amazing we came through it and still had all the kids.

On the way home some of the kids fell asleep and so did the mama's.
